Iranian media reports that the U.S. attempt to rescue the pilot was unsuccessful

People’s Finance News, April 3—According to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, on April 3, the U.S. military deployed “Black Hawk” helicopters and a C-130 “Hercules” transport aircraft in an attempt to rescue a U.S. fighter jet pilot whose aircraft was shot down by Iran, but the effort was unsuccessful. The report did not mention the location of the incident, but citing some sources, it said that the American pilot ejected and landed within Iranian territory, and may already have been captured by the Iranian side. The report also cited statements from sources saying that, given that this matter could damage the U.S. side’s reputation, the U.S. may subsequently designate another person as the rescued pilot. As of now, the U.S. has not issued an official response to this.(Xinhua News Agency)
