The total revenue of China's science fiction industry has reached 126.1 billion yuan.

At the opening ceremony of the 2026 China Science Fiction Conference, the “2026 China Science Fiction Industry Report” was released. It shows that in 2025, the total revenue of China’s science fiction industry reached 126.1 billion yuan, up 15.7% year over year, marking three consecutive years of surpassing the 100 billion-yuan mark. The science fiction reading industry’s total revenue for the full year was 5.19 billion yuan, achieving eight straight years of growth; the scale of digital reading reached 3.73 billion yuan, and science fiction online literature became the core growth driver. The science fiction film and TV industry’s total revenue for the full year was 8.16 billion yuan, up 21.6% year over year, as the film market gradually rebounded. The influence of domestic science fiction TV series and animation continued to grow; the rapid rise of AIGC short-form video accelerated; and the gaming industry’s total revenue for the full year was 77.91 billion yuan, up 8.5% year over year.
