Iranian military: Ready to ambush enemy advanced fighters

ME News Report, April 4 (UTC+8), Iranian Air Defense Joint Command Commander Ali Reza Elhami stated during an inspection of the Iranian Army and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps defense positions that Iran has utilized independently developed new methods and equipment to "prepare for ambushing enemy fifth-generation fighters and advanced drones." He mentioned that in previous battles, Iran's air defense forces successfully shot down several enemy advanced fighters, over 160 drones including "MQ-9," "Hermes," "Lukas," and other US-Israeli joint-invaded drones, as well as dozens of cruise missiles. They took "timely and precise" actions before the enemy launched offensive operations. Additionally, during operations conducted by the Army and Revolutionary Guard air defense units, multiple enemy fourth- and fifth-generation fighters were hit, damaged, or destroyed. Elhami stated that these achievements are attributed to advanced tactics, modernized equipment, and innovations in air defense systems.

ME News update: On April 4 (UTC+8), Ali Reza Erhami, commander of Iran’s Joint Air Defense Forces, said during a visit to Iran’s Army and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps defensive positions that Iran has “made preparations to ambush the enemy’s fifth-generation fighter jets and advanced unmanned aerial vehicles” using new methods and equipment developed independently.

He said that in earlier battles, Iran’s air defense forces successfully shot down several enemy advanced fighter jets, more than 160 drones including “MQ-9,” “Hermes,” “Lucas,” and other drones used in joint U.S.-Israeli incursions, as well as dozens of cruise missiles. Before the enemy carried out offensive operations, they took “timely and precise” actions.

In the actions carried out by the Army and the air defense units of the Revolutionary Guard Corps, multiple enemy fourth- and fifth-generation aircraft were hit, damaged, or crashed.
