When the wheels of history roll into 2026—the first year of the start of China’s “Fifteenth Five-Year Plan” period—we are standing at an unprecedented intersection of global change. The rapid development driven by a century of industrial revolution is colliding profoundly with the boundaries of resource, ecological, and social development. As waves of global competition and rivalry surge forward, sustainable development has become the core yardstick for measuring a company’s global competitiveness. And the meaning of “development” carried by the era has long gone beyond a single dimension of wealth creation, evolving into a shared commitment to protecting nature, society, and the future.

In 1987, the United Nations report “Our Common Future” was officially released, and the concept of “sustainable development” entered global view. Over more than three decades, this cross-border and cross-industry consensus has evolved from an advanced idea into a pressing issue that businesses must answer. Especially for Chinese companies accelerating their push onto the global stage, sustainable development has become a core strength related to international competitiveness, access to global markets, and the building of long-term trust.

As a leading enterprise in the global display and Internet of Things industry, BOE has, throughout its more than three-decade development journey, continued to move forward with a commitment to long-termism. Guided by the “IoT through displays” strategy and the “Nth curve” theory, we continuously traverse industry cycles to achieve sustained iteration and steady growth. Sustainable development is the core driving force that propels enterprises to move from mere scale expansion to higher-quality value growth.

Based on this deep understanding, while upholding our long-term vision of “becoming the most respected great company on Earth,” BOE has built a complete three-in-one system for sustainability strategy, organization, and brand. We have established a coordinated advancement mechanism from the governance level to the execution level. Relying on six strategic pillars—open innovation, environmental sustainability, a win-win ecosystem, people-oriented approach, operating in the right way, and creating value for the future—we embed sustainability deeply into the company’s governance structure, strategic decision-making, and business operations, making it an important foundation supporting the company’s long-term evolution.

More importantly, we have launched China’s first sustainable development brand for the display industry—ONE (Open Next Earth). With “open and inclusive, innovation-led, and sustainable ecosystem” as its core connotations, we are firmly pushing BOE to steadily transition from “a leader in technology innovation” to “a builder of sustainable ecosystems.” Through coordinated efforts across “strategy, organization, and brand,” we not only systematically transform sustainability into the company’s core competitiveness, but also realize dual value—strategic leadership from within and ecosystem co-creation from without.

When we turn our gaze to the world, a clear realization becomes even more prominent: sustainable development is becoming a core pillar and unique advantage of BOE’s global strategy. Unlike traditional overseas expansion models that pursue short-term market share and rely on simple replication, BOE’s globalization is a systematic output of value carried by technology, products, brand, and ecosystem capabilities. It is also a long-term commitment to deep dialogue and collaborative co-creation with global partners, using sustainable development as a shared language.

We understand that the core to winning global markets does not lie in expanding market share, but in becoming “one of us”—a trusted and respected presence in local society. Therefore, we have deeply integrated the “open, lead, and sustain” philosophy advocated by the ONE brand into global business decisions and operational practices—from building green smart factories and cultivating local talent, to fulfilling community responsibilities and sharing management experience—every step is dedicated to achieving the harmonious coexistence of business value and social value. What we pursue is never simple scale replication, but value co-existence rooted in sustainable development.

On the level of technology and innovation, we uphold the philosophy of “respect for technology and commitment to innovation.” We deeply integrate display technologies with cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things. Focusing on three major display technology brands—ADS Pro, f-OLED, and α-MLED—while enhancing visual experiences, we achieve coordinated optimization of display performance, screen energy efficiency, and intelligent capabilities through low-power design.

We are firmly advancing the “AI+” strategy. In the AI+ manufacturing domain, the industry’s first BOE AI factory has been launched to continuously empower manufacturing efficiency upgrades with our self-developed Blue Whale display large model. In the AI+ products domain, we have built an end-to-end innovation model covering “components—complete machines—systems—scenarios.” In the AI+ operations domain, we focus on core areas such as market insights, production planning, and integrated supply, continuously empowering quality improvement and efficiency gains.

In the manufacturing and operations domain, we firmly pursue the direction of green and intelligent development. Currently, BOE has 21 “national-level green factories,” 1 “lighthouse factory,” 2 “zero-carbon factories,” 1 “chlorine-free factory,” 7 UL2799 platinum-level certified factories, and 1 factory that achieves 100% recycled reuse of water used for production. By leading comprehensively in key areas of green manufacturing, BOE has become a benchmark demonstration for the global display industry’s green transformation. This complete green production system covering the entire value chain of design, production, and operations makes BOE a leading model for green transformation across the global display industry.

In the industrial ecosystem domain, we deepen cooperation with global partners in areas such as technology R&D, industry-chain collaboration, and standard co-building, with an open and inclusive approach. We firmly believe that truly vital growth must come from an ecosystem of mutual trust, collaboration, and win-win outcomes. This ecosystem synergy is BOE’s unique competitive strength in globalization—we not only need to “take out” mature industry experience from China, but also need to “bring in” advanced practices from global partners to achieve a two-way gain of value.

Long-term accumulation in industrial deepening and ecosystem co-building ultimately needs to give back to society and serve the public. From empowering digital education to supporting the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s “Science for the Decade” initiative; from using ultra-high-definition technology to help protect intangible cultural heritage to conducting diversified medical public welfare services—by the end of 2025, BOE has cumulatively built and supported 156 smart classrooms, providing smart education solutions and teacher training for over 70,000 teachers and students; the “Hundred Lectures on Palace Museum Traditional Culture” public welfare courses benefited nearly 40 schools and more than 20,000 students; under UNESCO’s “Science for the Decade” framework, STEM education projects cover more than 5,000 students, the Africa STEM club network has covered 20 countries and 263 clubs; throughout the year, 1,281 medical public welfare activities were carried out, covering 170,000 people… We are always committed to ensuring that technological innovation creates positive impacts across a broader social dimension.
