I just saw something crazy—someone actually jumped straight into the enclosure of the Thai internet-famous hippo Moo Deng, and he was recording the video on a tablet, even trying to reach out and touch the hippo. This happened in March. The zoo’s live stream captured everything, starting from 5:17 PM.
That hippo is called Moo Deng, and in Thai it means “bouncy pig.” It was born last July, and it became famous right from the moment it was born. This guy is also really brave—he stayed inside the enclosure for more than a minute before climbing out, and during that time he even tried to get close to the hippo herd. The security response was also pretty quick; they directly subdued him and handed him over to the police.
Later, the zoo said the hippo wasn’t injured—though it may have just been scared. But this incident also shows how hot the internet-famous hippo’s popularity is: it’s so high that people want to take such a huge risk to get close at a distance like that. That zoo is in Chonburi Province, about two hours by car from Bangkok—so I guess they’ll be upgrading their security measures now. Tell me, what is this guy trying to do? Is it worth it for a video?
