I just discovered Google's Whisk — a pretty cool AI tool for generating images. Its operating mechanism is also simple: you drag and drop three images (subject, scene, style), and it recombines them into a new piece. The Imagen 3 model handles the heaviest processing. It is known that Whisk has expanded to over 100 countries since its launch. But strangely, it is not available in some major regions like the EU, the UK, India, and Indonesia. The exact reason is unclear, but it seems related to Google's legal disputes in these areas. In the EU, 32 media organizations sued Google for 2.1 billion euros in compensation. The UK is investigating Google's dominant position in search and advertising. Indonesia fined Google $12.4 million over Play Store payment issues. So, it’s not too surprising that Whisk isn’t allowed to operate there. This tool is designed for quick exploration rather than pixel-perfect editing. Sometimes the results aren’t exactly as desired — the subject may have different height or skin tone. But for brainstorming ideas, Whisk is quite convenient. It’s just a pity it’s not available in many places.
