Hong Kong launches a dedicated website for mainland enterprises going abroad specialized team
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government Investment Promotion Agency announced on the 20th that it has officially launched a dedicated special website for mainland enterprises going global, offering one-stop information and professional support to mainland companies that intend to expand overseas markets through Hong Kong, to help them make more effective use of Hong Kong’s international strengths, and to plan and implement their going-global plans.
The Going Global Special Website consolidates key information needed by mainland enterprises to go global, covering the roster of special working group members and support services, details of promotional activities, going-global case studies and practical resources, as well as the first phase of a cross-sector professional services platform launched the same day by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Algernon Yau said that the HKSAR Government encourages mainland enterprises to make good use of Hong Kong’s international strengths in finance, trade, professional services, innovation and technology, and talent, to help companies expand their business in the global market. He said that more mainland enterprises going overseas through Hong Kong will bring more direct investment, job opportunities, and demand for professional services to Hong Kong, further promoting high-quality growth of the local economy.
Deputy Secretary for Justice Zhang Guojun said that the Department of Justice had earlier released the first edition of “Hong Kong Professional Services Success Stories for Mainland Enterprises Going Global.” Next, the Department of Justice will organize and compile a list of legal professional services providers by detailed business categories and publish it on the Going Global Special Website.
The cross-sector professional services platform for the Going Global Special Working Group is one of the measures announced in last year’s Financial Budget. The platform brings together service providers in eight major areas in Hong Kong—finance, legal services, accounting, brand promotion, logistics, communications technology, infrastructure and real estate, and testing and certification—and will match mainland enterprises with Hong Kong service providers, providing one-stop professional support for going global.
In 2025, the Investment Promotion Agency assisted a total of 560 overseas and mainland enterprises in opening or expanding their businesses in Hong Kong, representing an increase of over 4% year on year. The number of enterprises reached a record high. ( Xinhua News Agency )
