Guys, yesterday I came across a topic — it turns out you can now just take a photo of a problem and a neural network will solve it in seconds. Not just give the answer, but also explain the entire process step-by-step. I tried several services — here’s what I found interesting.
Photomath is the classic, honestly. You point the camera at an equation — and there’s your solution with a full breakdown from the photo. It works with handwriting and print. But only math, nothing else. A subscription is needed for full features, of course.
Wolfram|Alpha is some kind of powerhouse. It’s not just a solver, it’s a computational engine. It creates graphs, solves integrals, differential equations — everything in one place. Covers physics, chemistry, statistics. However, photo recognition is only in the paid version.
MathGPT liked that it’s free and works without registration. Understands Russian, although the interface is in English. It solves math, physics, chemistry — everything. Photo solutions are also available here, just upload and done.
There’s also Photomath, Mathway, Symbolab — all similar in basic functionality. But Symbolab is more for students, with calculus, derivatives, serious stuff. Mathway is more convenient for school students, with a simpler interface.
BotHub is a whole different level — it’s an aggregator where various neural networks are collected (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude). You can choose which model to work with. More versatile than specialized solvers.
Gauth is also universal — not just math, but biology, economics, languages. Suitable for homework across different subjects.
Newly released is Nano Banana Pro from Google DeepMind. It’s primarily an image generator, but it can solve problems and even reproduce the answer in the same handwriting as on the photo. It creates infographics from the solution. That’s a completely different level.
Overall, the choice depends on what you need. For school math — Photomath or Mathway. For serious science (physics, chemistry, higher mathematics) — Wolfram|Alpha. If you need help across various subjects — Gauth or BotHub. And if you want something fantastic — Nano Banana Pro.
The funniest part is that now ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude can do all this too. They are versatile and work across any discipline. Math, physics, chemistry, history, languages — all the same for them. Wow, what progress has happened in just a couple of years.
