These days, I’ve seen people arguing about whether mandatory royalties should be enforced in the secondary market, and honestly, I feel conflicted. Creators need to make a living, and that’s fine, but tying it to every resale is basically like wrestling with liquidity: when everyone hesitates, transactions slow down even more, and in the end, creators might not even be better off.
I used to be a bit obsessive, “I only look at on-chain data,” seeing large transfers, exchange hot and cold wallets moving, and thinking it was smart money signaling… Now I think, often it’s just moving assets, risk control, or people testing the waters. On-chain is like a flash of firelight, it can illuminate the way, but it doesn’t tell you where to go.
Anyway, I now prefer to see royalties as a “sustainable tacit understanding”: if you want to support, buy from the official, join the community, get better benefits; if not, don’t moralize about it. Treat your position like firewood, add slowly, don’t expect a sudden blaze. That’s all for now.
