U.S.-South China trade talks resume as representatives from both sides meet in New York on Thursday to break the tariff deadlock.

The South African trade negotiation team has submitted a revised proposal to the Trump administration, seeking to reach an agreement to drop the 30% tariff imposed by the U.S. on certain export goods from this largest economy in Africa. However, the South African government stated that the U.S. has not yet responded to its trade proposals—these include facilitating U.S. companies' sales of chicken and pork in South Africa, as well as a commitment to purchase liquefied natural gas from the U.S.
