A big pump of 200% in 48 hours, can the Musk concept meme coin RFC become the next DOGE?

Abstract generation in progress

On March 7, while the entire crypto market was immersed in the sadness of a big dump, a Musk concept Meme project called “RFC” (Retard Finder Coin) surged against the trend. According to GMGN data, RFG’s price soared over 200% in the past 48 hours, with a market capitalization reaching nearly 30 million dollars.

RFC’s platform X social account, nicknamed “Retard Finder” (meaning “Idiot Finder”), was created in December 2024 and its tweets mostly revolve around immigration policy and radical environmental issues, leaning toward the right and attacking the white left (siding with Trump).

In the past month, the account has gained the attention of celebrities such as Elon Musk and Eric Trump, and its followers have skyrocketed from more than 200,000 to 700,000, with an average daily follower increase of about 20,000, far exceeding the growth rate of similar political satire accounts (usually 0.3 to 8,000 per day). Moreover, Musk’s account also interacted with the RFC account 22 times, and conspiracy theorists even suspected that the account was Musk’s “political trumpet”.

Behind Musk’s wild hype may be political manipulation

Retard Finder first rose to prominence with a simple yet satirical post: when someone scribbled a swastika on the Tesla Cybertruck, he responded with the phrase “Found one” with a screenshot of the incident, and his concise humor immediately went viral, setting the tone for his “exposing the absurd with a minimum of words”. Since then, many users have spontaneously started interacting with Retard Finder on Platform X, @ the account whenever they find what they perceive as “mentally retarded remarks”; Retard Finder also selectively retweets these accounts to entertain the public.

Since early March, when Musk began to pay attention to and interact with Retard Finder, the account’s followers were only about 200,000, but have now rapidly climbed to nearly 700,000, with an average daily increase of about 20,000, far exceeding the growth rate of similar political satire accounts (usually 3,000 to 8,000 daily).

Some people may wonder why Musk didn’t directly use his account to speak out, but chose to use this project? The reason may be political aversion. Musk is facing an EU investigation into platform X’s interference in the German election, and directly criticizing the “white left” may increase legal risks; Speaking out through a third-party account (@IfindRetards) not only retains room for political maneuver, but also successfully makes the account his “spokesperson”, allowing him to express his views more freely.

By searching for “from:elonmusk @ifindretards” on Musk’s homepage, it is not difficult to find that the interaction between these two accounts is unusually frequent. In the past 35 days, there have been a total of 22 interactions between the two parties, of which Musk actively @ed the other party 11 times, far exceeding his average monthly interaction frequency of 3-5 times with the official Tesla account (@Tesla).

In March 2025, Musk replied to a post on X criticizing his “cognitive decline” and directly @ the account. Previously, Quillette founder Claire Lehmann had posted that Musk relied on drugs instead of exercise to keep his mind clear, and Musk @IfindRetards in an understatement, as if to imply that “I found a fool”. This interaction not only led to a surge in exposure on the account, but was also seen as Musk’s acquiescence and recognition of his “troll culture”.

Rare Carnival in the Encryption Circle

In the token trading market where meme culture is prevalent, top influencers like Musk and CZ are always the focus of the market, and any of their actions can draw widespread attention. Following this, with frequent interactions between Musk and the “mouthpiece” account, the RFC token quickly became a market hotspot, with its market capitalization continuously rising.

Since the launch of the RFC token on March 25, the market value of the RFC token soared to $9 million in the early morning of the 26th, and then fell all the way back to a minimum of $1.5 million, and the market value has been consolidating and fluctuating around $200 since then. It wasn’t until 14:36 on March 31, when Musk @Retard Finder again in response to @Nature post, that the RFC token market cap skyrocketed 510.47% in an hour, jumping from $2.86 million to $17.48 million, setting a record for the highest increase in a single interaction.

At 23:52 on April 2, Musk @Retard Finder again in response to the @EndWokeness post, causing the token’s market cap to skyrocket by 84.57%** in just 4 minutes, from $11.37 million to $20.98 million. **

On April 6th at 12:59, Musk directly responded to a tweet from Retard Finder, which requested Musk to investigate the restoration of a certain user’s social media account. Musk replied, “Investigating.” The extremely high-frequency interaction has also caused the RFC token to soar against the trend in price over the past two days, with its market capitalization rising from $10 million to a peak of $30 million, making it the most dazzling dark horse in today’s market.

Whether it’s Elon Musk’s frequent interactions or the humorous memes from the account itself, the success of the RFC token undoubtedly injects a strong euphoric stimulant into the crypto market during a sluggish market. Although some RFC holders shout “RFC is the next DOGE,” Odaily Planet Daily still reminds us that meme risks are high, and to be cautious in managing risks.
