According to news from the Gate.io News bot and a report by Decrypt, the Brazilian government is taking action to ban the social chat application Discord. This move comes after police recently successfully thwarted a plot targeting Lady Gaga’s concert in Rio, which was organized on the Discord platform. The concert, which attracted over 2.1 million viewers, had its attack targets involving children, teenagers, and the LGBTQ+ community.

Brazilian congressman Guilherme Boulos has submitted a formal ban application. He pointed out that the lack of a legal representative for Discord in Brazil has led to difficulties in regulating illegal content on the platform.
