Jin10 data reported on June 16, port officials revealed that the import volume at the busiest port in the United States, the Port of Los Angeles, decreased by 9% year-on-year in May. Due to the impact of the tariff policies during the Trump administration, many companies chose to cancel or delay shipments to cope with uncertainty, which may lead to continued poor performance at the Port of Los Angeles for the remainder of 2025. “This May is the lowest monthly throughput we have seen in more than two years,” said Gene Seroka, Executive Director of the Port of Los Angeles. “Many importers have already suspended related operations.”
