Upbit Bitcoin Exchange Announced a New Listing! Here are the Details

South Korea’s leading cryptocurrency exchange Upbit announced that it will start providing support for the Ethereum-based digital asset Newton Protocol (NEWT) in KRW (Korean Won), BTC, and USDT trading pairs.

According to Upbit’s statement, NEWT can only be sent and received through the Ethereum network. Transfers from other networks are not supported, and it is stated that such transactions may take a long time even if they enter the refund process.

Additionally, all NEWT investments made before the reference price of the asset is determined on price tracking platforms like CoinMarketCap, even if the amount exceeds 1 million KRW, will be subject to additional verification processes in accordance with the “Travel Rule” ( Financial Tracking Regulations ).

Transaction Start and Restrictions

Upbit highlighted the following rules at the opening of the transaction:

• Buy orders cannot be placed during the first 5 minutes.
• A reference price will be announced for the minimum selling price.
• Only limit orders will be allowed for the first 2 hours, while market and other types of orders will be temporarily disabled.

The Newton Protocol (NEWT) is a project developed to facilitate user experience in the Web3 world, providing an AI-based automatic agent infrastructure. The platform operates with AI agents that securely and verifiably fulfill the goal-oriented commands given by users.

The NEWT token, within this ecosystem:

Security and Compliance Alerts

The exchange has stated that it will only allow deposits and withdrawals of NEWT from “verified wallet addresses that belong to the user.” Additionally, refunds may be required for transfers from incompatible wallets. For high-value transfers, users may be asked for documentation regarding the source of funds.
