PANews, July 2 news, according to CoinDesk reports, the Bitcoin Layer2 network BOB has launched its Testnet ahead of schedule, with the Mainnet planned to go live in the fourth quarter of 2025. The project is built using the BitVM computing paradigm, aiming to support Decentralized Finance services through Bitcoin native assets (in non-wrapped form), and its cross-chain bridges technology allows for the free transfer of BTC between Rollup and Mainnet. The co-founder of BOB, Alexei Zamyatin, emphasized that this solution is fundamentally different from asset encapsulation models like Stacks, similar to how ETH retains its native properties in Ethereum Rollups. The Testnet has gained support from institutional nodes such as Lombard, Amber Group, and RockawayX, and these operators will participate in BitVM bridge validation.
