Avalanche and Toyota Blockchain Lab are collaborating to develop the Mobility Orchestration Network (MON) – a new blockchain layer that supports the infrastructure for autonomous taxi fleets (robotaxi). MON is built on Avalanche's multichain system and Interchain Messaging, aimed at creating a secure data-sharing environment for vehicle financing, ride-sharing, insurance, carbon credits, and ownership transfers in the secondary market.
According to Roi Hirata, Director of Ava Labs Japan, the MON network will pave the way for robotaxi services in the future, from payments, rentals to fundraising and online fleet management, allowing the construction of an entire business model on Blockchain. However, the participation of automobile manufacturers and regulatory agencies is the key factor in realizing this vision.
In addition, the trend of tokenization of mobility is expected to become a new highlight, alongside projects tokenizing real assets (RWA) on Avalanche.
