The Lighter DEX platform announced that it will fully compensate more than 2,000 affected users in the 4.5-hour outage incident on October 10. Users will receive stablecoin and reward points to “farm” the upcoming token.

According to Lighter, the incident stemmed from a database upgrade error following the cryptocurrency market crash, which caused thousands of people to be unable to trade. A total of 2,008 people lost more than 1,000 USD, of which 38 people suffered losses exceeding 100,000 USD.

Lighter is a perpetual contract DEX on Ethereum, competing with Hyperliquid (HYPE) with a recorded trading volume of 93 billion USD in October, nearly catching up with HYPE (109 billion USD). The platform does not charge fees for retail users and plans to launch its native token in Q4/2025. After the crash, other DEXs showed mixed movements: HYPE decreased by 6%, MYX decreased by 4%, ASTER increased by 4%.

HYPE1.72%
MYX4.22%
ASTER4.17%
