All shares of Aplo will be exchanged for newly issued shares of Coincheck. The transaction is expected to be completed in October 2025, pending approval from regulators and shareholders.
Aplo is currently a digital asset service provider (DASP) licensed by the French Financial Markets Authority (AMF) and is seeking full licensing under the EU's MiCA regulations, helping to open the door for institutional digital asset trading in Europe. Coincheck, which is one of the leading cryptocurrency exchanges in Japan, stated that this deal helps them expand into the European market and develop services for global institutional clients.
