Lighter distribution Points for users affected by the incident

TapChiBitcoin

Lighter, the second largest decentralized derivatives trading exchange, experienced a downtime during the “flash crash” on October 10, causing users to suffer losses of about 50 million USD. To compensate, the platform will distribute 250,000 Points ( reward points ), which will be converted into tokens in the future, equivalent to about 20 million USD at OTC prices.

The Lighter point is currently highly sought after, having reached 100 USD/point and still trading around the 81 USD mark. However, some investors in the liquidity fund (LLP) are dissatisfied because they only received a small portion compared to the 5% loss.

Despite criticism, most traders appreciate Lighter's quick response. Despite the incident, the platform still holds the second position in the DeFi derivatives sector, with over 1 billion USD TVL and a 24-hour trading volume of 7.3 billion USD, only behind Hyperliquid.
