The asset management group T. Rowe Price (1.77 trillion USD) has filed with the SEC to launch the first actively managed cryptocurrency ETF, allowing investment in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and other coins like XRP, DOGE, ADA, AVAX, SHIB, and LTC. The fund is expected to hold 5–15 digital assets and be traded on NYSE Arca.
The fund will only invest in “qualified assets” to comply with regulations and maintain a portion of assets in cash, stablecoins, or safe short-term investments. The company also considers implementing staking if permitted by the regulatory authorities.
This move comes as Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF funds from BlackRock, Fidelity, and Grayscale have attracted over 170 billion USD, indicating that financial institutions increasingly regard cryptocurrency as a legitimate investment channel.
