Putin: The U.S. side's intention seems more like postponing the summit rather than canceling it.

Jin10 reported on October 24 that Russian President Putin responded to U.S. President Trump's remarks regarding the Russia-U.S. Budapest Summit, pointing out that the U.S. side currently tends to postpone the summit rather than cancel it. Putin told reporters: “Based on the latest statement from the U.S. side, I understand that the U.S. President has decided to cancel or postpone this meeting. Judging from the wording, it is more likely to be a postponement of talks.” Putin specifically pointed out that holding the Russia-U.S. Budapest Summit hastily without sufficient preparation would constitute a major mistake. “Such high-level meetings must be meticulously prepared. Whether for myself or for the U.S. President, treating the summit lightly or failing to achieve expected results would be a mistake.”
