The statement claimed that the Rapid Support Forces launched a full-scale attack on the city of Balah controlled by the Sudanese Armed Forces, inflicting heavy casualties with thousands dead and hundreds injured, and completely seized control of the city. The statement also noted that regaining control of Balah is an important step towards the full control of the Kordofan region. The Sudanese Armed Forces have not yet responded to this statement.
