Kaspersky has detected a new data-stealing malware named Stealka, which is currently spreading through fake game mods and cracked software distributed on platforms like GitHub and Google Sites. First recorded in November 2025, Stealka shows a concerning escalation in cyber attack campaigns targeting regular users and cryptocurrency investors.

This malware is designed to silently collect sensitive data, including login information, browser data, private keys, and the recovery phrase (seed phrase). According to analysis by Kaspersky, Stealka is capable of attacking over 100 web browsers and more than 80 cryptocurrency wallets, including popular wallets such as MetaMask, Binance, Coinbase, Phantom, and Trust Wallet.

After successfully infiltrating, Stealka operates stealthily within the system and sends the stolen data back to servers controlled by hackers. This campaign highlights the significant risks of downloading unverified software and the importance of cybersecurity, especially for gamers and cryptocurrency users.
