PANews December 26 News, according to Cointelegraph, the city of Lugano in Switzerland has accepted Bitcoin for various payments, from McDonald’s to local taxes. The city has been implementing its “Plan ₿” project, which collaborates with USDT issuer Tether, aiming to build Bitcoin infrastructure for everyday life. Merchants participate because Bitcoin’s Lightning Network transaction fees are usually below 1%, compared to an average of about 3% for credit card networks. Additionally, residents can use standard QR code bills to pay municipal bills, including taxes, parking fines, and tuition fees, using Bitcoin or USDT.
