Intel sells 214.8 million shares to Nvidia, with a transaction value of $5 billion

BlockBeats News, December 29th, shows that the SEC filing reveals Intel sold 214.8 million shares to Nvidia, amounting to $5 billion. Intel stated that the issuance and sale were conducted under the Securities Purchase Agreement signed on September 15, 2023. (Jin10) Previously, BlockBeats reported that on September 18th, Nvidia announced it would invest $5 billion in Intel (INTC.O) to support this struggling American chip foundry company, but did not grant Intel any critical chip manufacturing orders. The agreement also includes plans for Intel and Nvidia to jointly develop personal computer and data center chips, which could pose a potential risk to TSMC (TSM.N). Currently, TSMC is responsible for manufacturing Nvidia’s flagship processors; as the world’s most valuable company, Nvidia may potentially transfer this part of the business to Intel in the future. Additionally, AMD, which competes with Intel in the data center chip supply sector, may also suffer losses due to Nvidia’s support for Intel.
