According to IT Home on November 11, Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, recently wrote an article on his personal website to introduce his views on AI, and believes that AI will completely change the way users use computers.
Gates introduced the concept of an “agent”: a type of software that reacts to natural language and accomplishes many different tasks based on what it knows about the user. Gates said he has been thinking about “agents” for nearly 30 years, a concept he mentioned in his 1995 book, “The Road Ahead.” In the computer industry, Android, iOS, and Windows are all platforms. Gates believes that “agents” will be the next platform. In the not-too-distant future, anyone who goes online can have an AI-powered personal assistant.
In addition, Gates argues that the most exciting impact AI “agents” can have is that they will democratize services that are too expensive for most people today. They will have a huge impact in four areas: healthcare, education, productivity, and shopping and entertainment.
