Satoshi Nakamoto Wallet was removed from the Apple App Store in the United States

On November 24, some users and crypto community participants took to X (Twitter) to share their attempts to search for the WoS app, but did not find results or redirect users to competing wallet apps.

However, as of this writing, the WoS app is still available for download in the Apple App Store in Australia and the Google Play Store versions in Australia and Singapore.

According to industry writer and podcaster Kevin Rooke, Wallet of Satoshi is a popular lightning payment platform that is expected to process more than 1.1 million lightning payments in November.

Mr Rooke added that it would be the company’s “biggest month of lightning payments ever”.

Apple maintains tight controls on a hefty 30% tax on in-app payments, which has been an obstacle for cryptocurrency platforms trying to enter the App Store. **

On November 17, a group of disgruntled PayPal Venmo and Block Cash App users filed a class-action lawsuit against Apple, alleging that the company had an anti-competitive agreement with PayPal and Block restricting the use of crypto technology and payments on iOS.

Apple has a history of removing crypto apps, and in June it removed the Nostr-based Damus app due to the Bitcoin tipping feature. In October, the company also briefly removed the MetaMask wallet app from the App Store.
