The US Secret Service has refused to increase security requests at the Trump rally.

According to Jinse Finance, four sources revealed to The New York Times that in the two years before the attempted assassination at a rally in Pennsylvania last Saturday, senior officials of the U.S. Secret Service had long refused requests from Trump’s security personnel to increase resources and personnel. The agents responsible for protecting the former president’s security requested the deployment of magnetometers and more agents at sports events and other large public gatherings attended by Trump, as well as additional snipers and special forces at other outdoor activities. They said that these previously unreported requests were sometimes rejected by senior officials of the agency, who cited various reasons, including the long-standing efforts to address personnel shortages and lack of resources.
