Odaily Planet Daily News Polymarket founder and CEO Shayne Coplan said in the ‘Token2049 Fireside Chat’ that at Polymarket, people can bet on the outcome of events and see real-time probabilities of the future world, with certain ‘outcomes’ being more measurable and priced.
Currently, the ‘Result Token’ is just a rough mathematical model, either win or lose, without leverage. As prediction markets become more popular and more data is accumulated, the future (events) will be more predictable. Prediction markets will ultimately have a guiding role in real life, such as people browsing prediction markets to see if their flights will be delayed tonight and preparing in advance.
It is worth noting that the prediction market will have derivatives of information and opinions, allowing users to trade risk. Ultimately, all data of future events can be part of the prediction, enabling people to fully express their opinions. We are also exploring how to list more personal ‘questions’ on Polymarket in the future.
