Jinse Caijing reported that the ETH second-layer network Base posted on X platform, stating that when designing the One Billion Transactions commemorative collection on Zora, it unintentionally imitated the work of another artist without citing the source. Base expressed regret for this and will donate all proceeds to Chris Biron, while also improving the process to ensure that this does not happen again. Yesterday, Base announced that it had reached a milestone of 1 billion transactions in a single day and launched a commemorative collection on Zora. Subsequently, artist Chris Biron claimed in a post that the collection was a replication and mashup of his earlier works, and ironically, his original works were created on-chain minted by Base, so the commemorative collection is actually a “pirated” work.
