The 2nd Metaverse Conference in 2024 grandly opened in Haikou

On December 6th, the 2nd Metaverse Conference of 2024 opened in Haikou. This conference, themed ‘Empowering Applications, Wisdom to See the Broad Future,’ brought together over a hundred top experts, scholars, and industry leaders from home and abroad to discuss topics such as AI empowering the healthy development of the industry and the digital integration of cultural and tourism sectors, engaging in in-depth exchanges.

Member of the Party Group and Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Hainan Province Huang Yejing attended and delivered a speech;

Yu Mingke, member of the Central Committee of the China National Democratic Construction Association and founder of Hainan Zhongsheng Wenti Group, said that in the digital industry era, Elementa Universe Technology will deeply change and iterate the top-level design and bottom-level logic of every industry. He called on all sectors of society to explore together, embrace the digital transformation, and inject new vitality into industry upgrading.

At the opening ceremony, the Global Metaverse Innovation (Hainan) Center was officially unveiled, aiming to actively promote cross-industry cooperation and technological innovation in the industry, carrying the increasingly important strategic position of Hainan Free Trade Port in the global Metaverse development.

The conference lasted for three days and included an opening ceremony, main forum, roundtable forum, thematic forum, and exhibition. At the main forum, Academician Tan Jianrong of the Chinese Academy of Engineering gave a special report on the theme of ‘Empowering Application Scenarios, Broadening the Intelligent Future’, exploring the key technologies and development trends from generative AI to the Metaverse, and sharing cutting-edge industry dynamics and insights. Subsequently, Professor Liu Jianming of Tsinghua University, Professor Peng Shaoliang, a Changjiang Scholar, MetaverseAIGC expert Xing Jie, and Chen Xiangbin, the founder of Tian Di Online, delivered brilliant speeches covering various aspects such as general AI, Metaverse industry predictions, and immersive experiences in culture, commerce, and tourism, fully showcasing innovative achievements and future prospects in their respective fields.

In the afternoon, the theme forum “Integration of Digital Economy and Entertainment Industry in the Era of Digital Production” focused on the integration of digital economy and cultural and entertainment industries. Zhang Yan, Deputy Director of the Haikou Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports Bureau, elaborated on the unique advantages of Haikou in the field of cultural and tourism industries in his promotional speech, emphasizing the outstanding achievements of Haikou in policy support, innovation ecology, and industrial resource integration, as well as the quality development environment and diversified support measures provided for enterprises. In addition, several industry experts shared their insights. Professor Pan Jian from Zhejiang University discussed the application of AI digital humans, and Professor Ma Lizhuang from Shanghai Jiao Tong University demonstrated the innovative application of new technologies in film and television media. Participants unanimously agreed that cross-sector collaboration is an important driving force for industrial innovation, and they should actively embrace digital transformation to achieve sustainable development in the industry.

The forum also held the plaque unveiling ceremony for the “Metaverse China Tour” Haikou Station, aiming to promote the integration of digital economy and physical economy Depth, accelerate Metaverse technology innovation, industrial development and ecological construction, and stimulate new momentum for the digital economy.

It is worth mentioning that the conference also set up a professional exhibition area, where multiple technology companies concentrated on displaying Metaverse-related technologies and applications, including virtual reality and augmented reality.
