Odaily Planet Daily News Blockstream co-founder and CEO, inventor of Hashcash, and well-known cryptographer Adam Back said that Quantum Computing may make the BTC network even more powerful. Industry insiders had previously expressed concerns that, due to advances in quantum physics, Quantum Computing could execute computing processes at unprecedented speeds, potentially undermining Encryption Algorithm in the future.
Back in X’s post, he said, ‘Post-Quantum (PQ) will still take decades.’ That’s why hash-based PQ solutions are never feasible: ‘PQ signature research will eventually produce conservative, thoroughly reviewed, and more compact signatures, which BTC can consider as another option.’
