Government Efficiency Department Structure Announced: Restructuring US Digital Service, Establishing Temporary Organization with DOGE Team

The structure of the Department of Government Efficiency DOGE includes: · Restructuring and renaming of the United States Digital Service. The United States Digital Service is now renamed as the United States DOGE Service (USDS) and will be established in the President’s Executive Office. · Establishment of an interim organization. A USDS administrator will be established in the President’s Executive Office, reporting to the White House Chief of Staff. Pursuant to Title 5, Chapter 3161 of the United States Code, a temporary organization named the “United States DOGE Service Interim Organization” will be further established. The United States DOGE Service Interim Organization, led by the USDS administrator, is dedicated to advancing the President’s 18-month DOGE agenda. The United States DOGE Service Interim Organization will terminate on July 4, 2026. The termination of the United States DOGE Service Interim Organization shall not be construed as terminating, weakening, or modifying other powers or provisions of this order. · DOGE Teams. Following consultations with USDS, each agency head shall establish a DOGE team consisting of at least four employees within their respective agencies, including special government employees. Team members must be hired or assigned within thirty days of the issuance of this order. Agency heads shall consult with the USDS administrator to select DOGE team members. Each DOGE team typically includes a DOGE team lead, an engineer, a human resources specialist, and a lawyer. Agency heads shall ensure coordination between the DOGE team lead and USDS and provide recommendations to their respective agency heads on implementing the President’s DOGE agenda.
