One of his closest advisors previously stated that Australia was ‘strangling the American aluminum market.’ However, Farrell stated that after the supply interruption during the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Australia increased its aluminum exports and received support from former U.S. President Biden. ‘All of this was done with the full knowledge of the U.S. government. At no stage have we done anything to make the U.S. government uncomfortable.’
