BTC's recent market movement was a bit surprising. 14 consecutive months of gains, I had gotten used to seeing green every day, and I didn't expect this month to finally turn around. The last time I lost money was in mid-October last year, and this time I really got slapped in the face.
SOL's performance was even more painful, dropping 13.87% in a single month. I originally thought of using ETH's gains to hedge against SOL's risk, but I found that this logic was flawed—hedging sounds very professional, but sometimes it's just self-deception, a psychological comfort. ETH performed well, but it couldn't fill the gap left by SOL.
Fortunately, I also allocated some funds to BNB. The cost basis for this position isn't high, and currently the paper profit is approaching 40% (not including airdrops). Overall, diversified multi-asset allocation can indeed help you get through tough times with individual projects. Experiencing this wave of adjustment has given me a new understanding of risk management.
