U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis introduces a new bill with the core goal of protecting Bitcoin developers from being misclassified as remittance service providers. This move is crucial—developers have long faced regulatory uncertainty and are easily labeled with various tags. The bill essentially serves as a reassurance, clarifying the legal boundaries so they can focus on technological innovation without constantly worrying about compliance issues. In simple terms, it uses legal means to promote the healthy development of the Bitcoin ecosystem and provides creators with a relatively clear environment for innovation.

Finally, someone is doing this. Developers being arbitrarily categorized is really frustrating.

Finally, someone has figured it out. Developers are stuck in a high-risk gray area of the law, and this directly affects the collateralization rate of the ecosystem and the security threshold for smart contract deployment. If this bill really passes, it could reduce regulatory liquidation risk by at least 50 basis points... but I still want to see the data. Whether Lummis and these folks are reliable depends on the voting results.

Lummis finally did the right thing this time; developers have really been through enough.
