When my older female cousin first started middle school, she was often bullied by high school girls. Besides that, she also experienced betrayal, having her secrets spread, being laughed at behind her back, and being isolated. This made me think that as long as I don't make friends, there won't be any trouble. I've always felt fearful about interacting with girls, and during this process, my social skills gradually declined. Talking less has become one of my biggest shortcomings—fewer things to deal with, but also fewer friends. I guess it has its pros and cons.
