On May 22, according to official news, OKX announced the launch of the Bitcoin asset xBTC on the Aptos mainnet. Aptos users can now mint xBTC on the OKX platform and seamlessly transfer it to the Aptos network for trading, lending, and other DeFi applications.
At the same time, the three major Aptos DeFi projects Hyperion, Echo Protocol, and Aries Markets will jointly launch a special event with OKX Wallet on May 23 at 15:00 (UTC+8) to promote the deep integration of xBTC in the Aptos ecosystem.
According to the Aptos Foundation, the launch of xBTC not only enhances the on-chain financial utility of BTC, but also highlights Aptos’ leading advantages in high performance, security and scalability, further stimulating the advantages of on-chain liquidity, and further stimulating the development of on-chain liquidity and developer ecology.
