BTC miner IREN: in contact with a trillion-dollar company for hosting AI-related infrastructure
Based in Sydney, BTC miner IREN Union’s CEO and co-founder Daniel Roberts stated that a mega-scale company (a large cloud service provider) has approached the company, possibly to host AI infrastructure at IREN’s mining site in Sweetwater, Texas. He said, “Two hours ago, we received an email from a trillion-dollar mega-scale company, expressing interest in Sweetwater,” Roberts did not disclose too many details. In addition, IREN’s cost for mining BTC is around $29,000, far below the market price of around $96,000. Daniel Roberts stated that compared with other companies paying Spot prices, the company has the opportunity to accumulate BTC at a discounted price.
