Slovakia has started importing natural gas from Russia through the 'Turkish Stream' pipeline.

Ferenc stated that the protocol reached between SPP and Gazprom is valid until 2034, and there is “no consideration to terminate the protocol”. Importing Russian natural gas through the “Turkish Stream” pipeline is to reduce energy costs. The “Turkish Stream” is a natural gas pipeline that Russia uses to supply gas to Europe through Turkey, and it is one of the few remaining gas pipelines between Russia and Europe. The pipeline is intended to transport natural gas to Turkey, or through Turkey to southern or southeastern Europe.
