BlockBeats news, on February 13th, MainSky Asset Management analyst Eckhard Schulte said that the slow progress of US inflation may mean that the Fed will not cut interest rates until the autumn, or may not cut interest rates at all this year. ‘This is not our core assumption, but ultimately it will not establish a new ‘market static,’’ Schulte said. US inflation data for January was higher than expected, prompting a knee-jerk reaction in the US Treasury market, with yields rising. Schulte said that this situation only occurs when the Fed discusses possible rate hikes. ‘But as long as inflation does not deteriorate significantly in the coming months, this situation will not occur.’ (FXStreet)
