Germany opposes sending troops to Ukraine without U.S. involvement

Jinshi data news on February 17th, according to Agence France-Presse, Germany opposes the deployment of European peacekeeping forces to Ukraine without the participation of the United States. A German government source revealed that Berlin opposes sending troops to Ukraine as part of a potential future European peacekeeping mission if it ‘does not have full U.S. participation.’ The source said, ‘We will not get involved in the situation of disagreement between Europe and the United States on security (policy).’ The United States has previously acknowledged the possibility of deploying peacekeeping forces to Ukraine to monitor a potential ‘ceasefire,’ but has stated that U.S. forces will not participate in such a mission.
