Gold Financial reports that Paul Atkins, Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), delivered a keynote speech at the Washington Economic Club, pointing out that since taking office, he has promoted the SEC to return to its core mission of “protecting investors, maintaining market order, and promoting capital formation,” and criticized the past regulatory rules for over-expansion, increasing market friction and uncertainty.
Paul Atkins added that the U.S. SEC is accelerating the establishment of a clear regulatory framework for digital assets, collaborating with other regulatory agencies and Congress to advance, and also proposed the “A-C-T” strategy, including promoting regulatory modernization (Advance), clarifying regulatory boundaries (Clarify), and reshaping the rule system based on fundamental principles (Transform), to enhance the competitiveness of the U.S. market and consolidate its position as a global investment and business environment.
