Vosh: The Federal Reserve's balance sheet is too large and will work with the Treasury Department to reduce it.

Golden Finance reported that on April 21, the Federal Reserve Chair nominee, Worsh, said that he still hopes the size of the Fed’s balance sheet can be reduced and that he will work with the Secretary of the Treasury to achieve this goal. Worsh told senators, “A large balance sheet has become a common, recurring phenomenon, and it serves no useful purpose—this is also part of the reason the Fed gets involved in political affairs. I believe we need a smaller Fed balance sheet. By working with the Secretary of the Treasury, we will find a way to reduce the size of the balance sheet.”
