Powell: The Federal Reserve is closely monitoring potential risks in the private credit market

Golden Finance reports that on March 30, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said on Monday that the Federal Reserve is closely watching for potential problems that may arise in the private sector. Speaking at Harvard University, he said that regarding private credit, “it makes up a relatively small share within a vast asset ecosystem, and we are paying very close attention to this area.” Powell did not specify the current level of risk in that area. He added: “You’re not going to hear people saying there are no issues here, because that would be a bad omen.”
