HIVE Digital Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: HIVE) has just announced a roadmap for the expansion of Bitcoin mining and high-performance computing (HPC), aiming for a capacity of 35 EH/s by the end of 2026. The company will implement a 100 MW hydropower project in Paraguay, utilizing renewable energy from the Itaipú region to enhance mining efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. The initial phase at the Yguazú facility has achieved 5 EH/s and is expected to exceed 12 EH/s by 2025.
At the same time, the subsidiary BUZZ HPC partnered with Bell Canada, utilizing NVIDIA GPU clusters for AI and national cloud applications, starting with 5 MW in Manitoba before expanding across Canada.
HIVE stated that the parallel strategy of expanding mining and developing AI infrastructure will help the company transition from a “pure Bitcoin miner” to a comprehensive digital infrastructure enterprise, creating sustainable growth and long-term revenue.
